Juneteenth, short for the date June Nineteenth, commemorates the day the effects of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Galveston, Texas, freeing the remaining hundreds of thousands of enslaved people.
Locals danced in the park while enjoying the annual Juneteenth celebration filled with music, food, fun and festivities. Our stage featured special guest artists including: Music artist AZVT, Storyteller Ferene Paris-Meyer (All Heart Inspirations), Music artist Ke-Rubo, and DJ Craig Mitchell.
