Celebrate Black joy, liberation, culture, and community with us! Juneteenth, short for the date June Nineteenth, commemorates the day the effects of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Galveston, Texas, freeing the remaining hundreds of thousands of enslaved people. We’re so excited to celebrate this important day with music, food, and fun!

3:30–5 Liberation Through Movement and Community: A Yoga & Discussion Gathering for Juneteenth
As part of the Winooski Juneteenth Celebrations, this free community event will offer a
45 minute, beginner-friendly yoga session followed by light refreshments and a guided group
discussion. Together, we will explore the shared themes of liberation, freedom, and healing
present in both the practice of yoga and the historical significance of Juneteenth.
