Participate in the Market

We love our market community and are so happy you want to be a part of it. There are lots of ways to get involved, and we’re always open to hearing new ideas. Read on for information about vending, tabling, volunteering, or playing music at the market.

Special Event & Farm Applications are Open

Applications for our monthly themed special event days are open on a rolling basis!

In an effort to welcome more food providers to the market, we are also keeping applications open on a rolling basis throughout the 2026 season for farms and other grocery vendors only.

Visit the Application page for more details.

Canvassing Policy

Candidates and/or advocates are welcome to canvass on foot at the market site, as long as they do so outside of market bounds. They are welcome to be stationed outside of the market entrances/exits. While market size may vary, this generally refers to the area near the crosswalk through the southeastern corner of the Rotary, and the area near the crosswalk in front of the Champlain Mill steps.

We are not able to host candidates within the market, and they should not enter the market to approach customers or vendors inside for the purpose of canvassing. Canvassers may not set up tables or displays, but be present on foot only.

Vend

We welcome new vendor applications during designated periods before each market season. We may also put out calls for special event vendors at other times.

Table

Community groups are welcome to sign up to table at the market as long as there is availability. Eligible groups receive one free tabling date per season.

Volunteer

Volunteers make our market happen — and become our dear friends! Volunteer time at the market is City Market member worker hour eligible.

Music

Our music schedule is fully booked during the spring ahead of each market season. Interested in playing? Click the button below to fill out our interest form.
