Visitor Information

Getting to the Market

The market is easily accessible on foot, by car or bike, or with public transportation. We are located just over the Burlington/Winooski bridge at the bottom of the Winooski Rotary. See below for information about our ample parking. The market is a direct stop on the Green Mountain Transit lines through Winooski (#2 on Sundays) via the Spinner Place/Winooski Falls at Champlain Mill stops.

Parking

The market is conveniently located directly across the street from the Winooski Parking Garage! To access the garage, enter with your vehicle on Cascade Way. There is a pedestrian exit directly to Winooski Falls Way. There is also street parking along Winooski Falls Way. There are several disabled parking spaces directly adjacent to the market on the street. All city parking — both street and garage — is always free on Sundays (market day). If you park in the street spots by the market, please be sure to move your vehicle promptly after 2pm so our vendors may use these spots to load out. There are also numerous bike racks at the market site for bike parking.

Accessibility

The market is located outdoors on ground level around the corner from a busy traffic circle. The majority of vendors are on brick and concrete sidewalks but some are on the grass. We map a six foot minimum corridor for visitor movement between vendors. If you need assistance reaching a vendor, please come to the Manager’s Booth and we’ll be happy to assist you. There is limited picnic table seating available at the market. There are several disabled parking spaces directly adjacent to the market on Winooski Falls Way, as well as in the Winooski Parking Garage across the street. There is a gender neutral accessible bathroom located across the street at the pedestrian entrance to the Parking Garage. There is live music in the market space every week from 11am-1pm. For questions or access needs, please feel free to contact us.

Current Crop Cash Exchange

Crop Cash is a program of NOFA-VT that matches your spending when you use your SNAP/3SquaresVT benefits at the market. The current Crop Cash match rate for the summer 2025 season is:

1:1

Up to $20

This means, that every $1 in SNAP benefits that you take out at the market, up to $20, gets MATCHED in Crop Cash! To maximize your use of this program, you can get the following once per every market day:

$20 in Tokens + $20 in CC = $40

You spend $20 and get $20 free!

You are always welcome to take out more than $20 in your EBT benefits, received as $1 tokens. However, the Crop Cash maxes out at $20.

Important Note for EBT Cash and Direct Deposit Recipients

There is a new protocol for getting Crop Cash coupons this year. EBT Cash and Direct Deposit customers should verify that their benefits include nutrition assistance by showing a Market Manager their Notice of Decision letter from the Economic Services Division.

How?

Simply bring your Notice of Decision letter (or a clear photograph of it) to the Market Manager’s booth where you get your Crop Cash. If you have an EBT Card, we will give you a sticker to put on the card. If you get Direct Deposit benefits, we will give you a special Eligibility Card to sign and bring back with you to future markets. That’s it! After that, you are verified for the whole season at any market you attend. We don’t keep your letter or any of your personal information.

What if...

…I go to multiple markets? Doesn’t matter! You only need to do this ONCE at any ONE market. Your stickered EBT Card or signed Eligibility Card will let all markets know you’re eligible.

…I forget to bring my Notice of Decision letter next week? Don’t worry! The Market Manager will still give you Crop Cash, as long as our extra funding lasts. However, please try to remember your letter for your following visit.

…I lose my Eligibility Card or my sticker comes off? Please bring your Notice of Decision letter to the market again at your next visit and the Market Manager will give you another card or sticker!

I don’t know where my letter is. How do I get a new Notice of Decision?

To request a copy of your most recent Notice of Decision, you can call the Economic Services Division at 1-800-479-6151 (or 1-855-247-3092 if you need an interpreter) and have one mailed to you. You may also choose to visit the local Economic Services office in person to get a copy as this may be faster. The local office is the Burlington District Office located at 128 Lakeside Avenue, Suite 301, Burlington, VT 05401. Their hours are 7:45am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Why?

Crop Cash is money that comes from a strict federal grant. It requires that Crop Cash only be given to people who get nutrition assistance. Rarely, people who get EBT Cash or Direct Deposit benefits are not given their benefits for nutrition assistance. Showing us this letter allows us to verify that your benefits are intended for nutrition assistance.

Why Now?

In the past, we did not use the federal grant for EBT Cash customers’ Crop Cash; we used state funds instead. But the amount of state funds is much smaller! Being able to use federal money for everyone’s Crop Cash increases the likelihood of things like an increase in the match amount or the return of Crop Cash PLUS.
