Visitor Information
Getting to the Market
Summer Information:
The market is easily accessible on foot, by car or bike, or with public transportation. We are located just over the Burlington/Winooski bridge at the bottom of the Winooski Rotary. See below for information about our ample parking. The market is a direct stop on the Green Mountain Transit lines through Winooski (#2 on Sundays) via the Spinner Place/Winooski Falls at Champlain Mill stops.
Winter Information:
The Senior Center is located just a few blocks from the summer location, at 123 Barlow St. For residents, this is the same place where you vote and carve pumpkins for Halloween! Unfortunately, the #9 bus that is a direct stop does not run on Sundays, however the #2 bus will still get you about 2 blocks away. Please check for service alerts such as this one from Green Mountain Transit for details.
Parking
Summer Information:
The market is conveniently located directly across the street from the Winooski Parking Garage! To access the garage, enter with your vehicle on Cascade Way. There is a pedestrian exit directly to Winooski Falls Way. There is also street parking along Winooski Falls Way. There are several disabled parking spaces directly adjacent to the market on the street. All city parking — both street and garage — is always free on Sundays (market day). If you park in the street spots by the market, please be sure to move your vehicle promptly after 2pm so our vendors may use these spots to load out. There are also numerous bike racks at the market site for bike parking.
Winter Information:
There is ample free parking at the Winooski Senior Center directly outside the building, including several disabled parking spaces close to the building. There are no bike racks on site.
Payment Options
The majority of vendors accept debit and credit card payments. Some vendors are able to accept Apple Pay, Venmo, and other electronic payment methods. However, there are always exceptions and it’s usually a good idea to bring some cash. Often, vendors appreciate cash or app payments where they may not need to pay processing fees.
All vendors accept cash! If you don’t have cash on you, you are welcome to purchase $5 Market Tokens at the Manager’s Booth using a debit or credit card. $5 tokens are accepted by all vendors and are treated as cash, including receiving change back. There is a $1 processing fee when you purchase tokens to cover the Square fees and help us operate this service. Tokens may not be returned or exchanged back to the market, but never expire and may be used in any future season.
The market is happy to accept SNAP/3SquaresVT benefits in exchange for $1 Market Tokens. If you receive food benefits, please bring your benefit card to the Manager’s Booth to get your funds converted for use with the vendors. $1 Market Tokens are different than the $5 variety and are limited to use on produce and grocery items. $1 tokens cannot be used to purchase alcohol, supplements, or hot, ready-to-eat foods. Tokens never expire and may be used in any future season. For information about applying for 3SquaresVT/SNAP benefits, please visit the Vermont Foodbank website or call the VT Foodbank 3SquaresVT team at 1-855-855-6181.
We proudly participate in the Crop Cash and Farm to Family programs. Crop Cash is a nutrition incentive program of NOFA-VT that matches your spending when you exchange your SNAP/3SquaresVT benefits for tokens at the market. See below for the current Crop Cash exchange rate. Farm to Family is a program from the Department of Children and Family Services that provides a booklet of $6 coupons to those eligible via income limit or WIC enrollment. Farm to Family coupons are not distributed by the market, but may be brought to WFM and used directly with participating vendors. Both currencies may only be used for fresh produce.
Accessibility
Summer Information:
The market is located outdoors on ground level around the corner from a busy traffic circle. The majority of vendors are on brick and concrete sidewalks but some are on the grass. We map a six foot minimum corridor for visitor movement between vendors. If you need assistance reaching a vendor, please come to the Manager’s Booth and we’ll be happy to assist you. There is limited picnic table seating available at the market. There are several disabled parking spaces directly adjacent to the market on Winooski Falls Way, as well as in the Winooski Parking Garage across the street. There is a gender neutral, accessible bathroom located across the street at the pedestrian entrance to the Parking Garage. There is live music in the market space every week from 11am-1pm. For questions or access needs, please feel free to contact us.
Winter Information:
The market is located on in a ground floor, single-story building, with a wheelchair accessible/gender neutral restroom located inside, as well as two multi-stall gendered restrooms. There are several disabled parking spaces close to the building. We do our best to maintain a six foot wide pathway at the winter market, but please be aware space is more limited than at the outdoor market. If needed, there is a side door we can open for you to enter/exit upon request. It is a relatively small building with fifteen vendors set up inside. There is no live music at the market, but music is played over speakers and noise level ranges depending on amount of customers in the space at any given time. We do not require masks at the indoor market, but encourage them.
Current Crop Cash Exchange
Crop Cash and Crop Cash PLUS are programs of NOFA-VT that matches your spending when you use your SNAP/3SquaresVT benefits at the market. The current Crop Cash match rate for the summer 2026 season has not been announced yet.
You are always welcome to take out more than the match in your EBT benefits, received as $1 tokens. However, Crop Cash and Crop Cash PLUS only matches up to a certain amount.
